Wipe road grit off the tyre before you mount the bike, because grit against the resistance roller is what wears a tyre fastest. Check both locking arms are engaged before you get on.

Ride at home when the weather says otherwise.

Dual-support alloy steel trainer with a quick-release rear clamp, for 26 to 29 inch and 700c wheels. Rated to 150 kg, folds flat.

Weather, daylight and traffic all decide when you can ride outside. A trainer removes all three from the argument.

The bike clamps in by its rear wheel and stays put, so you ride your own bike, in your own fit, indoors.

This is a dual-support frame in alloy steel with a locking arm on each side, rated to 150 kg.

It takes wheel diameters from 26 to 29 inch, which includes 700c road wheels.

It folds flat at 6.5 kg, so it goes under a bed or in a car rather than living in the middle of a room.

Bike Trainer Stand

A trainer turns the bike you already own into an indoor bike. That is the appeal over an exercise bike: same saddle, same bars, same fit, so the position you have spent time getting right comes with you.

Bike Trainer Stand

This one holds the bike by the rear wheel. Both arms lock, which is what stops the frame walking sideways when you put power down, and the quick release means getting the bike in and out is a few seconds rather than a job.

Bike Trainer Stand

The 150 kg capacity is generous and covers rider plus bike comfortably for almost everyone.

Bike Trainer Stand

Fit is the thing to check before ordering. It takes 26 to 29 inch wheels including 700c, which covers most road, hybrid and mountain bikes. Very wide fat-bike tyres and some thru-axle setups are the usual exceptions, so check your axle type if your bike is newer.

Bike Trainer Stand

On tyres: a trainer wears a rear tyre faster than the road does, because the contact patch is always in the same place against a roller. Riders who train indoors a lot often keep an old tyre on a spare wheel for it. That is normal for every trainer of this type, not a fault of this one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What wheel sizes does it fit?

26 to 29 inch, including 700c road wheels.

How much weight will it take?

150 kg, which is rider plus bike.

Will it fit a thru-axle bike?

Check your axle type first. This clamps the rear wheel in the conventional way, and some newer thru-axle setups need an adapter.

Does it fit fat tyres?

Very wide fat-bike tyres are usually the exception. If your tyre is far wider than a normal mountain bike tyre, check before ordering.

Does it fold?

Yes, flat, and it is 6.5 kg, so it stores under a bed or goes in a car.

Will it wear my tyre?

Yes, faster than the road does, because the contact patch stays in one place against the roller. That is true of every trainer of this type. Many riders keep an old tyre on a spare wheel for indoor use.

Is it quiet?

It uses a low friction resistance roller, which is quieter than older designs. Any trainer makes some noise, and most of what you hear is tyre against roller.

How stable is it?

It is a dual-support frame with a locking arm on each side, which is what stops the bike moving sideways when you push hard.

What is it made of?

Alloy steel.

How quickly can I get the bike in and out?

Seconds. The rear clamp is quick release.

Can I use it with a mountain bike?

Yes, within the 26 to 29 inch wheel range.

Does it come with a riser block for the front wheel?

No, a riser block is not included. Many riders use one to level the bike, and a book of the right thickness does the same job.

Is resistance adjustable?

It uses a fixed low friction roller. Your effort is controlled by your own gears.

Do I need a mat under it?

It is worth having one. It catches sweat, protects the floor and cuts noise transfer through a hard floor.

Can I use it in a flat?

Yes. Put it on a mat, because most of what a neighbour hears is vibration through the floor rather than the trainer itself.

Will it damage my bike?

No, it clamps the rear axle in the normal way. The wear item is the tyre, not the frame.

Is it suitable for a heavy rider?

The capacity is 150 kg for rider and bike together.

Does it work with an e-bike?

If the wheel size is in range and the total weight is under 150 kg, yes. Check the axle type as with any bike.

How long does it take to set up?

It arrives folded. Unfolding, levelling and clamping the bike takes a few minutes the first time.

Do I need tools?

No tools are needed to set it up or to mount the bike.

Can I leave the bike on it?

You can. Many people do between sessions.

Is it the same as a smart trainer?

No. This is a wheel-on trainer with a friction roller. It does not connect to an app or change resistance electronically.

Can I stand up and pedal on it?

Standing efforts put more side load on any wheel-on trainer. It is possible, but keep it controlled and make sure both arms are locked.

What is the product weight?

6.5 kg.

Do you sell a repair stand too?

Yes, a folding repair stand and a bench mount, both in the bike repair category.

How long does delivery take?

5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time. Express is available at checkout.

Is delivery free?

Yes on orders of EUR 60 or more. Below that it is a flat EUR 22.

Can I return it?

Yes. You have 14 days to change your mind, and faulty goods rights apply separately.

Where do you deliver?

Across Europe. Prices are in euro and shown including tax.

Who do I ask if I am unsure it fits my bike?

Email us with your wheel size and axle type and we will tell you straight.

Getting a trainer set up properly

6 min read Bike Stand Company

Check fit before anything else

Two numbers decide whether a wheel-on trainer suits your bike: wheel diameter and axle type. This one takes 26 to 29 inch wheels including 700c, which covers most road, hybrid and mountain bikes.

Axle type is the one people miss. Older bikes use a quick-release skewer and work straight away. Newer bikes often use a thru-axle, which may need an adapter. If your bike is recent and you are not sure, look at the rear hub or ask us.

Level the bike

Clamping the rear wheel lifts the back of the bike, which tips you slightly forward. A riser block under the front wheel puts the bike level again and makes a long session far more comfortable. One is not included, and a book of about the right thickness does the same job.

Tyre wear is normal

On the road the contact patch moves around the tyre. On a trainer it does not, so the same strip of rubber takes every kilometre. That wears faster and can glaze the surface.

This is true of every friction-roller trainer. Riders who train indoors regularly keep an old tyre, often on a second rear wheel, and swap it in. If you only use the trainer occasionally, it is not worth the trouble.

Noise, and living with neighbours

Most of what a neighbour hears is not the trainer. It is vibration travelling through a hard floor. A mat under the trainer solves most of it, catches sweat, which is corrosive, and stops the feet marking the floor.

Page summary

Bike Trainer Stand sold by Bike Stand Company at bikestand.eu.com, EUR 109. A folding indoor bicycle trainer in alloy steel with a dual-support frame, a locking arm on each side and a quick-release rear wheel clamp. Fits wheel diameters from 26 to 29 inch including 700c. Weight capacity 150 kg. Product weight 6.5 kg. Uses a low friction resistance roller against the rear tyre. It lets a rider use their own bike indoors, keeping their existing fit and position, when weather, daylight or traffic rule out riding outside. The dual locking arms are what keep the frame from moving sideways under power. Fit caveats worth checking before ordering: very wide fat-bike tyres and some newer thru-axle setups may not suit a rear-clamp trainer, so the buyer should check their axle type. Expected behaviour rather than a defect: any roller-type trainer wears the rear tyre faster than road riding because the contact patch stays in one place, which is why regular indoor riders often keep an old tyre on a spare wheel for training. Folds flat for storage or transport. Stock item, so the 14 day EU right of withdrawal applies in full. Delivery Europe wide, free over EUR 60, otherwise EUR 22, with an express upgrade available.
